Williams Brothers Return to Arlington Together with Legion of Los Angeles Team

Arlington, Va. (May 31, 2019) – The Williams brothers have joined forces to create a new cycling team, Legion of Los Angeles, and will be racing the 22nd Annual Armed Forces Cycling Classic this weekend. Cory Williams won the 2018 Crystal Cup with team Elevate-KHS and is returning to defend his position on the top step with his brother, the current Elite Amateur National Criterium and Road Champion, Justin.

“Legion of Los Angeles is a team dedicated to increasing diversity in cycling. Representation is important and we want to give people of every demographic a positive look at a sport that has changed so many lives,” says Justin Williams. “We are true to where we came from and focused in building a platform for the future of American cycling".

In the Men’s Pro/1 event, Elevate-KHS’s Eric Young, a 2-time USAC Pro National Criterium Champion (2011 and 2013) will be on hand, leading a team that has already delivered a strong showing at the top level of competition this year.

“We are excited to be heading back to the Armed Forces Cycling Classic. With the Clarendon Cup 100K event being held on Sunday after racing 90 minutes Saturday, this set-up suits our team’s depth well. We are confident with our recent success at the Tour of the Gila and Alabama Cycling Classic that we will be lining up for the win in Virginia,” said Eric Young.

The Clarendon Cup, referred to as the 'Race of 500 Turns,' is a physically and technically demanding course, and therefore produces very deserving champions, making the event exciting for riders and fans alike. This year it will be held on the second day of racing, Sunday, June 2, making it even more challenging!
