Pro Cycling and Amateur Cycling Races

Pro Cycling and Amateur Cycling Races in Arlington, Virginia

Saturday, June 1st, Crystal City

The day will begin at 7:00 am with the Armed Forces Cycling Classic Challenge Ride, which offers a closed course open to cycling enthusiasts of all abilities, from casual amateurs to serious racers. All riders must be off the course by 10 am.

After the Challenge Ride, the Women’s pro/am race will be held. The Kids races will be held after that, followed by the Men’s Pro race to conclude the days’ events.

We are unfortunately unable to offer the Men’s 3/4 race this year due to the need to compress our overall schedule. We hope that those that have participated in that category will consider riding in the Challenge Ride.

Sunday, June 2nd, Clarendon

The Armed Forces Cycling Classic’s Clarendon Cup is now in its 25th year, the Washington DC region’s premier Pro/Am race since 1998. The iconic course will once again challenge the athletes through the 5 turns.

The Clarendon Cup is known as one of the most difficult races of it’s kind in the U.S. due to the technical demands of the course and the quality of the participants.

The day starts at 7:45 am with a Men’s masters race. Then, we are pleased to add a women’s 2-3 field to reflect the growth in women’s racing. The Men’s 2-3 field will follow. At 10:05, we shift gears with the Women’s 50km Pro-Am race.

Beginning at approximately 11:40 am, we feature the Kids races — free for children ages of 9 and under – setting the stage for our last race of the day, The Clarendon Cup Pro/1 Men’s Invitational. Beginning at 12:05 pm, the Men's Pro Teams begin to roll out to race 100 laps (100km)! We guarantee an exciting finish as they race to be crowned winners of this prestigious event.
