General Registration

The Challenge Ride is an amateur, non-competitive, participatory ride, open to cyclists of all abilities. All participants will start and end in Crystal City. The ride will be held on a closed, 15km circuit in and around the Pentagon, Crystal City and the Air Force Memorial. Participants can be challenged for up to 3 hours, either as a Standard Registrant, Corporate Challenge Team or as part of Team Sabre. We will also track the performance of all those participating from our military in the Armed Forces Cycling Challenge. You do not have to start at 7:00am, as you can check in up to 8am - it just all depends on how many laps you want to complete by 10am.


We have added a Congressional Challenge for 2014! Participants will need to list who's office they work in and their party affiliation so we can track your laps. There is no additional fee. We will be competing the Republicans against the Democrats! Which party will complete the most laps? Participants must work on the hill (house or senate).

Packet Pick-up:
We STRONGLY ADVISE you to come before ride-day to pick up your rider number, timing chip and T-shirt (included if you registered before May 17th) to avoid the long lines on Sunday morning. Packets may be picked up at the following locations and times:

PLEASE NOTE:
For insurance reasons, each rider must be present to pick up their own packet, must have a photo ID and each rider will be required to sign a USA Cycling Waiver prior to receiving their packet - No EXCEPTIONS!! If you are registered in the DISCOUNTED ENTRY category, you must bring a valid Military ID indicating that you are ACTIVE Duty, Reserve or Retired Military. There are no other Discounted Entry Categories that will be accepted. If you do not have an ID, then you will need to pay a $10 step-up fee to the general category when you pick up your packet. If you mistakenly registered in this category and are not Active Duty Military, it will be handled at pick-up.

Ride Start
Please note that all Team Sabre riders will be allowed to begin in the first wave. We will mark that section at the Start/Finish line, and will also include some of the Corporate Challenge riders. General Registrants will find their appropriate area, determined by the pace they are working towards (Gold Medal pace, Silver Medal Pace, Bronze Medal Pace).

Awards:
Finishers will receive Gold, Silver or Bronze medals. Riders completing 6 or more laps will receive a Gold medal, those that finish 4 or 5 laps will receive a Silver medal, and those completing 3 or fewer will receive a Bronze medal.

In person packet pick-up will be run at the Crystal City Marriott at Reagan National Airport (1999 Jeff Davis Hwy, Arlington, VA), on Friday between 2-6pm, and on Saturday, between noon and 6pm.
You can also register on ride morning at the on-site Registration tent, near the start/finish line (Register now as we are likely to reach rider capacity early this year!!)

- $40 Discounted Entry (Active Duty/Reserve Military Personnel, Retired Military)
- $5 Late fee after May 1.
- On-line registration closes midnight, June 1
If we are not sold out, we will offer limited walk-up spots on Friday, June 6th at packet pick-up after 3pm. We will continue to offer walk-up spots until we are sold out.

Standard and Discounted Registration Fee Includes:
T-Shirt, Timing chip rental, finishers medal, water stops. Note T-shirts are only for pre-registered prior to May 17, 11:59pm ET

Discounted Fee:
You must bring valid proof of discounted category or pay the extra $10 at packet pick up. You may register in person for the event on Friday June 6th at the Crystal City Marriott (1999 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Arlington, VA) Hotel from 2-7pm or on Saturday, June 9th in Clarendon 10am-2pm. Subject to availability, you can register on the morning of the ride, Sun June 8th, at the Registration Tent near the start/finish line in Crystal City, 6-9am. Please note that t-shirts will only be distributed to the riders registered prior to May 17th.
